The Tring Zoological Museum is a fantastic Victorian exhibition building for the collections of Lionel Walter Rothschild. He collected thousands of animals, had them stuff and displayed them in this museum. Entry is free and it’s definitely worth an afternoon’s visit. Photos from a previous visit
At Whipsnade Zoo this weekend. I haven’t been for a while and it was great to see the new arrival to the elephants. “The pint-sized pachyderm, still to be named, was born just after midnight on Monday 12th April. One of the tallest babies at Whipsnade, the youngster is more than 3ft tall and weighs a healthy 124kg (almost 20 stone). Adult elephants can weigh over 800st.” from the Whipsade Zoo website. |
