Well it isn’t exactly new, but it’s a Nikon. I found a ‘hardly used’ Nikon AF 28mm f/2.8 lens on Ebay, so I bought it. I’m a sucker for a Ebay deal. It’s a small simple lens which offers standard shots without distortion. So, no wide-angle or macro work for this lens. I love my Nikon 20mm but I’ve always wanted this 28mm standard lens. Take a look at some of the photos I have already achieved, click here.
There is some physical maths behind this too. Although we have adopted 50mm as the standard lens, it’s actual about 43mm. And, Nikon sensors have a 1.5x ratio for all lenses so, 28mm (x 1.5) is a 43mm equivalent film lens. Giving you a new digital standard, I think.
