It’s taken over 5 months of searching since I sold my Porsche 911 C2 back in September last year. But today, I purchased a car. The BMW 530d M Sports Saloon. I still got to wait for a week or so while they respray the bonnet and sort out some minor scratches and scruffed alloys. So, it wont be long until I’m lauding it up around Luton.

It never hurts to keep the wife happy. Sarah preferred the new shape, so it’s a ‘win-win’, I think.
I do like the older shape. It’s looks meatier and more aggressive. But, it is older and I’ve had an older shape before. This one appeared on the search. It had everything I wanted; Leather, SatNav, Xenon light, Sport trim, Diesel, Auto (including a 6-speed tiptronic sports gearbox).
After looking at the old 5-series for so long I became familiar with it’s shape and felt comfortable knowing it’s a good car. So naturally I preferred a older shape. But just driving this newer shape made me want it. I would have only bought the new shape if it was an M Sport trim. The SE isn’t worth it.
I like the look of that, very much. I Thought you preferred the older shape?
